Applications:

General applications
For use as a lubricant or apply as a protective coating:
1. Using a clean dry cloth or lambswool applicator, apply a small amount of Lanolin spray to the entire exposed surface. Remove any excess with a dry cloth.

2. For best results apply to a clean, dry and de-scaled surface, however, if bare metal cleaning is not possible, removal of heavy scaling by wire brush will be sufficient.

3. Lanolin has the ability to permeate into metals especially if applied when surface is warm to hot. If practical leave articles to be treated in full sun for some time or use other means to moderately heat before application to provide maximum protection.

4. A light coating is sufficient when used as a corrosion inhibitor. Apply sparingly and always remove any excess remaining on the surface with a clean dry cloth. The treated surface may remain slightly tacky if excess is not removed.

Propellers
Lanoguard is an invaluable product to the marine industry, it's forte being the preserving of exposed base metals. It is particularly useful as an underwater exposed metal coating.

Benefits:
- Inhibits marine growth
- Resistant to acid etching
- Base metal penetration

Pro-active ability
Reduced hydrolysis
As Lanoguard is made from a natural product it does not affect our waterways like the "Toxic" anti fouls. It will not totally stop bacterial attachments, but drastically reduces this ongoing process.

Technical:

1. Clean the propeller and other fittings back to base metal
2. It is preferable to heat the metal to between 65 to 100 degrees Celsius
3. Liberally apply lanolin directly onto the hot components and rub in where practical Continuous use at regular service intervals can enhance and preserve your valuable assets

Metal Preservation
The metal preservation properties of Lanolin date back to ancient times. With modern refinement methods, Lanoguard offers you a product that can assist in many ways. Machines, fabricated or ground components can be hermetically sealed against oxidization.

Benefits:

Preserves hermetic components
Remains pro-active
Resists acid etching
Great anti-seize properties
Non-toxic
Easy clean up (white spirit or hot wash)

Technical:

1. Remove all oxidization or existing scale (e.g. with a wire brush)
2. All surfaces must be dry and clean prior to coating
3. Due to its pro-active properties, Lanoguard's protective coating will remain operative until removed as described below
4. A think film of Lanoguard spray should be applied to all metal surfaces, prior to storage. Lambs wool pads may also be used to apply spray or grease to components.
5. Lanoguard grease will preserve all joints and fittings for ease of servicing.
6. Clean off with steam cleaner or hot water wash about 60 degrees Celsius, also white spirit, kerosene or degreaser may be used.

Antennas and Aerials
Due to the composition of dissimilar metals and high thermal cycling rates Lanoguard provides exceptional protection to all metal antennas/aerials.

Lanolin's pro-active and base metal penetration qualities safeguard your equipment at all times, especially in severe corrosive environments.

Benefits:

Penetrates joints
Penetrates base metals
Electrolysis is reduced
No seizing of fittings
Retards the oxidization process

Technical:

1. Remove all flaking and oxidization with a wire brush.
2. Apply Lanolin spray or grease to the antenna installation.
3. Before application all components must be dry and should be done on a warm to hot day.
4. Lanolin can be used as an anti-seize during installation on all bolts and nuts to protect and extend the life of your antenna.
